Vegans claim that beekeepers are slave owners, that honey is theft. I believe in market forces and I think that if bees had the power of rational thought they would be willing to exchange their surplus honey for clean, freestanding, man-made hives that are reminiscent of up-market beach huts. Bees already work in a pleasant environment—-flowers, et cetera—- and they would want the classy living arrangements to match.

Everyone should read “Submarine;” especially if you enjoyed the film

”’…I use Trojans, America’s number one brand,’ I say. My dad is a historian. Albeit in Welsh history. I expect him to say that I should be wary of trusting a condom brand named after a moment in history when the Greeks snuck their army—-or penis—-into a Trojan fort—-or vagina—-by hiding it in a giant wooden horse—-or condom—-that they pretended was a gift. When the Trojans got drunk, the condom split and all the Greek soldiers wriggled out and got down to some serious pillaging.”

Ask and ye shall receive, indeed! Some of my small dreams have come true this week! Hopefully the next wish will come true, too!

1. The soundtrack to “Submarine” aka Alex Turner’s EP of six singles from the film that I requested on vinyl is being special ordered for me courtesy of a local record shop, thanks to my loving husband!

2. That cute, vintage telephone desk (above) that I asked for from Tome Traders in Henrietta, NY is being purchased for me as an early housewarming gift from my sweet Grandmum! I just need to find a vintage telephone to go with it, and I’ll be set!

Now we just have to find a perfect apartment to move into!

Most of the places we’ve looked at so far have been nice, but the kitchens are wayyyy too small; we’re talking as small as the one from our previous apartment in Albany (which was a hallway, more or less) or smaller—which we didn’t think was possible!! The other thing is that there isn’t quite enough storage/space I’m these apartments and a few have been on the second/third floor, which we’ve vowed to never do again if we can help it!

In short, we’re hoping at least one of the 3 apartments we have left to look at on Saturday will be more spacious!
